I'm on the Broadway Vocal Coach Podcast!

I had just finished writing a nice newsletter for today. Just half an hour ago.

I was tweaking and correcting typos as usual...when my phone vibrated.

OMG. It's out. It's finally out.

I open my Apple Podcast App and there it is.

The Broadway Vocal Coach New Podcast Episode.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Podcast. But I generally listen to it when I feel like it's a nice moment to get some insights about singing and musical theatre.

But today it's different.

Because I am going to be in it!

So I open the episode - I binge listen to it.
And here I am writing a brand new newsletter for today.

I guess you're going to read how I deleted an entire month of work on my website last Friday night, next Monday!

Cause today it's about SINGING!!! 🎶

You may not know that besides being a Creative Writing Coach, I'm also an actress and singer. (I graduated from Drama School two years ago).

I've been studying the role of Christine Daeé of The Phantom of the Opera for the past year and a half.

I still struggle with some parts of the repertoire and a couple of weeks ago, I decided to reach out to The Coach: Chelsea Wilson. She's a voice teacher, coach and has helped so many "Christines" in Broadway productions!

I asked her a series of technical questions and she replied by telling me that she was actually going to start a new section of her Podcast where she coaches singers on the spot.

What I needed to do was send her a recording of me singing a trouble spot from my repertoire and she would Coach me on the Podcast directly.

"Are you interested, Lisa?"

Without thinking or rationalizing it, I just said YES.

I recorded my song section on my phone and sent it to her.

And the result is just SO BEAUTIFUL.

First of all, I gotta tell you: when she introduces me at minute 10, it almost feels like she is talking about another person.

Is that really me?

That person with all those credentials, the founder of Storytelling With Love, the multidiverse Storyteller.

And the most incredible thing of this entire story is: I just dived in.

I sang. I recorded. I sent.

I didn't think that I might sound "bad" or that people might judge me.

Because I'm in the learning process and the most beautiful thing is to get help by Coaches.

And Chelsea is just a wonderful soul and she knows her stuff: I literally can't wait to try all her tips and advice she gave me!

Whenever I think about myself as a Coach, I want writers and creatives to feel safe - exactly like I did with Chelsea.

Because the truth is that help is out there everywhere. The World is filled with people who genuinely are ready to support. To make us feel valuable.

And that's exactly the core of Storytelling With Love and what I do.

I'd say "Before I get too emotional"... but I AM EMOTIONAL today!
And I already started celebrating with 100 g of linguine alla bolognese!
