online workshop
May 4th - June 30th, 2026
Taught by Lisa La Colla
Truth is...You don't need more courses, a new voice teacher, or better pictures of your face, or another fight with your parents.
Because if that worked, you'd already be a West End Star.
You need a role that nobody can take from you.
IN 2026, IT'S WHAT ALLOWS YOU TO FINALLY:
No more relying on someone else to give you a role, an opportunity or even permission to tell your own story.
Start feeling blessed about your path as an actor instead of frustration over the rejected audition or the 100th "no".
Forge your own destiny that truly reflects your voice, your identity as an artist and your cultural background.
Share, collaborate and grow with fellow creatives who are exactly like you and are ready to break the rules together.
It doesn’t go away. It doesn't get taken.
And most importantly, it rewrites your own story as an actor.
THAT'S exactly what I'm reaching you to write in my
Write your Own Show Lab.

CLASS 1
Learn how to get started, Master loglines, find your theme, and what pushes you to tell this story.
If you're just starting writing your story - or you've been trying for a long time with very few pages written - you can't miss this.
This module is about getting your clear on the strong basis for your story so that you can start writing with clarity. The main topics include:
• Logline - the one tool you need to go from being confused to know what your story is really about
• Genre Expectations - how to navigate them and set a tone that reflects your own voice
• Theme - what is it and why you shouldn't impose it on your characters.
🎭 Case Studies: Fleabag, Blackbird, Chef, Every Brilliant Thing
🎬 Case Studies: Little Miss Sunshine, The Help, The Godfather, Green Book, Home Alone
CLASS 2
Forget the pressure of having to "create". Discover what it means to listen to your characters.
If you think you need to be God or somekind blessed to write compelling characters - you'll love this module.
The writer's ego can get in the way when you think "you're creating characters". Let me tell you this: characters already exist somewhere. If they choose you to tell their stories, you'd better get ready to listen. You'll learn:
• Discovering a character - (instead of creating) how this will save you from imposing plots or themes
• Your character's goal, need, fear and motivation - how to connect without losing your mind
• Basics of human psychology - no need to kill anyone if you want to write about a serial killer or go and have five children if you're writing about a single mother
🎭 Case Studies: Mrs Sorken (Monologue), God of Carnage,
🎬 Case Studies: My Best Friend's Wedding, Finding Nemo, Poor Things
CLASS 3
Master plot points, understand how all stories are structured, and how to do it yourself too.
If the Three-act structure is something blurry, different according to any writer, and something you wish didn't exist - you're about to change perspective forever.
This module is about understanding The Three-Act Structure and how it is not imposed on the characters. But it comes from their journey naturally. You'll see:
Character's goal & Character's need - how to connect them and intersect plot and emotional journey.
Plot points - what they are, why their names don't actually matter.
Three-Act Structure - how to use it as a tool (and not let it use you!).
🎬 Case Studies: My Best Friend's Wedding, Interstellar
CLASS 4
Listen to them speaking: dialogue tricks, techniques to make your characters sound unique and original.
If your main character sounds like you talk and all your characters sound exactly the same - you can't miss this.
This module is about getting rid of the belief that dialogue is a natural talent and either writers have it or not. While there may be writers with a sharp pen (Hello, Amy S. Palladino!), dialoge is a skill and you'll learn:
Specific characters' words - how to have fun when writing it
Reverse expectations - let your dialogue sound natural and real
The Subtext - difference between the said and the unsaid that makes you feel like a true writer
🎬 Case Studies: Vicky Cristina Barcelona, Sideways, Little Women (2019)
CLASS 5
Write compelling and unforgettable scenes in your script, where emotion, conflict and stakes travel together.
If writing a scene seems like an impossible task, you're about to gain a new perspective.
This module is about learning how to structure each scene of your script, with simple and clear rules.
You'll see:
Main Scene Purposes - reveal character, advance the story, explore a theme, build visual context, establish conflict
The Main Questions - the golden questions you should ask yourself about each scene in revisions
🎭 Case Studies: Fleabag, Three Sisters
CLASS 6
Flashbacks and Voice Overs are the most dangerous tools and the most beautiful when used effectively.
If your flashbacks and voice overs seem like they come out of nowhere, you're about to access the knowledge you've been missing.
This module is about understanding the reason why most flashbacks and voice over don't work in a narration and how to implement them smoothly.
You'll learn:
The Main Risks - "showing vs telling", potential to distract or annoy, limitation of dramatic tension, confusion, pacing disrupt
Useful Tools - creating the need, exposition, further conflict, advance the plot
🎭 Case Studies: The Phantom of the Opera
🎬 Case Studies: Jane the Virgin, All About Eve, Blade Runner

WRITE YOUR SHOW LAB
➺ Want to bring your unique voice to the stage
➺ Believe storytelling is a superpower
➺ Refuse to settle with the industry rules
➺ Dream of going back on stage
➺ Wish for a finished, original script that's fully yours
hello, Storyteller!
AND I WANT YOU TO FEEL ACCOMPLISHED.
Actors, performers, musicians often train longer than doctors.
Years of classes. Technique. Discipline. Dedication.
And then the real nightmare begins:
Endless auditions for roles you don’t even love.
Competing against people you admire for your dream role
More dance classes. More belting. More accents. More “improvement.”
Because there’s always something you could fix...
...I've been there.
As an actress myself, I’ve seen countless talented performers struggle to get their voices heard.
I’ve watched incredible actors waiting for roles, hoping for a break, and losing opportunities to make themselves seen.
Here’s the reality: the industry is overcrowded. Too often, talent goes unseen, unexplored, and actors end up feeling drained and exhausted.
Since I've started, I always refused to believe there is only one way.
That's why as a Writing Coach I created a Lab where actors can get their powers back and create opportunities for themselves.
Many actors can perform the same role.
But only you can write your own story.
The biggest issues with most online writing courses are:
They're only a do-it-for-yourself approach. You watch the recorded classes and the show's over.
They focus on theory without helping you to implement what you've just learned.
That's exactly why I designed Write your Show exactly like I did!
Because writing is not a one-approach experience and having constant support from the same experienced Coach who teaches you the theory part, is exactly what makes you stand from the people who don't even write Scene 1.
ALL creator minds are welcome in this course. The modules are structured so that you gain all the knowledge you need, step by step, to write a compelling play. This means that all creatives can join!
You can watch all the recorded episodes at any time with a lifetime access!
PLUS: Every week I read your assignment and provide you with written feedback.
PLUS: I'll also be available on our Slack Chat Support (Monday-Friday).
PLUS: We'll see each other on our Group Zoom calls + Final Table Read.
You'll get all the support you need from me, I promise.
However, if during our course (or after it), you're craving for 60 minutes with me to discuss your work further, you'll get a 50% discount on my Power Call.
You have a lifetime access to the 6 recorded episode classes.
However if you don't send your weekly written assignment within the Sunday deadline, you'll miss your feedback.
Yes! There's a 2-month payment plan: 3 × €333.
Let me just reassure you by telling you that it's not likely to happen!
No refunds will be granted as per industry standard. Once you purchase this course, you will have lifetime access, so you can come back to the recorded episodes to a more convenient time.
(However, you'll lose your weekly personalized feedback and the Zoom calls).
Shoot me an email at lisa@storytellingwithlove.com - I'll get back to you within 24 hours (Mon-Fri).
Lifetime access to online course.
Weekly personalized feedback.
3 Live Group Sessions and Final Table Read.
A Script that is 100% yours.
What are you waiting for?
